In my class, the following goes into my grades, classwork/homework, projects, tests/quizzes/assessments (including retakes), and participation.
Assessments and assignments
Performances, full group rehearsals, sectional rehearsals, paper quizzes,
50% is assessments on the I can statements and 50% is assignments
Project Lead the Way is a project based curriculum, so students are primarily graded on the successful functionality of their project.
Content mastery, homework, participation
I use a combination of efffort/participation, use of class time, correct use of the medium that we are working with, quality of work, craftsmanship, and whether or not the project was completed
All of my assessments (tests, quizzes, presentations, and writing assignments) are standards based, but I have weighted them differently.Tests 25%Quizzes 20%Presentations/Projects 15%Homework/Participation 15%
I have been integrating the standards based assessment but must admit I still integrate some of my other types of assignments.
